‘Taylor Swift Concert’ Surpasses 2011 Beast Quake, Generates 2.3 Seismic Activity.

Taylor Swift’s concert in Seattle reportedly caused seismic activity equivalent to a 2.3 magnitude earthquake, surpassing the city’s previous record, the “Beast Quake” of 2011. The data was collected during Swift’s sell-out Eras tour performances at Lumen Field on 22 and 23 July, attended by a total of 144,000 fans over two nights.

Seismologist Jackie Caplan-Auerbach stated that the seismic activity was caused by Swift’s fans or the sound system. The geology professor at Western Washington University told CNN that the shaking from Swift’s concerts was twice as strong as the Beast Quake, effectively doubling it.

Swift’s Seattle concerts marked the end of the US leg of the Eras tour, her first tour in five years. This is not the first time music concerts have been known to cause seismic activity, with a similar occurrence during a 2011 Foo Fighters concert in New Zealand. The event has led to the conclusion that nobody can “shake it off” quite like Taylor Swift and her fans, a statement that now seems to hold scientific weight.
