Just In: Winner Emerges In Anambra APC Governorship Primary Election, Full Results Surface
- A former member of the House of Representatives, Nicholas Ukachukwu, has won the APC governorship primary in Anambra state, defeating Valentine Ozigbo in the contest
- Ukachukwu became the party’s flagbearer on Saturday, April 6, 2025, by a landslide vote, ahead of the Anambra state governorship election, which will be held on November 8, 2025
- The one-time lawmaker garnered 1,455 votes, while Valentine Ozigbo secured 67 votes; Johnbosco Onunkwo came third with 26 votes, and Edozie Madu polled 8 votes

Awka, Anambra state - Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River state, chairman of the primary election committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has declared the results of the Anambra state APC governorship primary election.
Legit.ng reports that Nicholas Ukachukwu triumphed in the poll.

Anambra election 2025: APC victor delighted
In his acceptance speech, Ukachukwu expressed his heartfelt gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for ensuring a hitch-free and transparent intraparty election process.
He also commended the APC national working committee, Governor Otu and his team, his co-contenders, and all delegates for their roles in the successful conduct of the primary.
Ukachukwu urged his fellow aspirants to unite and rally around his candidacy, emphasising that “the most important thing now is to deliver Anambra state to the APC.”
Furthermore, he assured party members and the people of Anambra of his unwavering commitment to their trust, pledging not to disappoint them as he prepares to challenge the incumbent administration led by Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) on 8 November 2025.

Anambra election 2025: Top governorship aspirant quits race
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Umeoji Chukwuma, a governorship aspirant in the APC primary election that was scheduled to be held in Anambra state on Saturday, April 5, has withdrawn from the race.
Chukwuma was among the seven aspirants who bought the APC’s N40 million nomination form and were screened by the party ahead of the primaries.
In his resignation letter addressed to the APC ward chairman in Umueri Ward II, Anambra East local government area (LGA), Chukwuma said he was stepping down to build a broader political movement in the state.
