What caused fire at Gachie home?
The cause of the fire remains unclear, though a resident, Dickson Juma, suspected it may have been caused by a candle, as there was a blackout at the time of the incident.
“The mother may have gone out, and we can’t say for sure what caused the fire, but the power was out, and maybe they lit a candle and left it burning.
We tried everything we could to put out the fire, but it was too late. The fire spread too fast, and we couldn’t save the children. The Kiambu fire engine arrived only after everything was already consumed, including the lives of three innocent child,” he explained.

Elsewhere, a family in Nyandema village, Migori county, has been left homeless after a gas explosion destroyed their home.
The explosion, which occurred around 11pm, caused the gas cylinder to detonate, setting the house and its contents ablaze.
According to a report by Citizen Digital, Acting Area Assistant Chief Richard Juma confirmed that the family managed to salvage only a generator, and fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.
The cause of the explosion is still under investigation by local police. Juma also urged residents to exercise caution when using gas for cooking, highlighting that there have been previous gas explosion incidents in the area.
