On November 5, 2024, Muthomi and his fiancée, Ray, were involved in a horrific head-on collision with a trailer while traveling in Mombasa.

Day Muthomi, Gathoni were in accident

In an emotional Facebook post, he recounted the events of the day that nearly wiped both of them out of the world before their ruracio.

The couple had been on a spiritual mission—Gathoni had just been introduced to Muthomi’s community of believers in the coastal city.

What followed was a scene of devastation and anguish for the duo.

“There was no greater pain in my life than seeing her helpless, in a pool of blood, with a fracture and writhing in pain,” Muthomi recalled in an emotional social media post.

How prayer saved Muthomi, Gathoni

Immobilized and bleeding from his injuries, he could do little more than pray—something he says made all the difference.

“I thank God for the privilege of Priestly Intercession,” he wrote. “I prayed and ministered loudly to her for as long as we were in the emergency ward pending the transfers.”

Doctors battled to stabilize the couple, both of whom had sustained multiple fractures and wounds.

But according to Muthomi, what could have been a “one-touch hit” by the enemy turned into a moment of miraculous survival and healing.

Reached for comment, he told TUKO.co.ke that they were bedridden for a month and were on crutches for three months

Now, exactly five months since the accident, and just days before they exchange vows, the couple stands as a living testament to what he calls “Divine preservation and Angelic Ministry.”

"We are no longer on clutches and are looking forward to our wedding this coming Saturday, April 13. We testify that the Lord is true, faithful, and dependable," he declared.

Their story has since gone viral online, touching many with its raw emotion, spiritual depth, and message of resilience.
