The mother of the Multimedia University (MMU) student who was allegedly murdered by her lover is struggling to come to terms with her daughter's demise.

Friends and family showed up at the house of the grieving woman, who refused to be comforted after losing her daughter, Sylvia Kemunto.

Fellow mourners tried to console the weeping woman who had lost a first-year university student daughter painfully.

She painfully opened up about her daughter's educational background, highlighting her academic prowess.
"I am a single mother. I have struggled to raise her alone. Kemunto was hardworking and she gave her all in her all in the academic. She went to a nearby primary school and did exemplary well in her Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE). She scored 425 marks and went to high school where she scored an A minus. Her dream was to get education and change my life. I am a mama mboga," she uncontrollably sobbed.

With tears rolling down her sorrowful face, the downcast mother, experiencing an unimaginable pain, desperately asked for justice for her daughter.
She pleaded for true and concrete justice, noting she did not want the suspect to be caught and released until proven innocent.
"I don't want the suspect to be arrested and then released. I am requesting them to follow up on the matter systematically and orderly. As a mother and the way I have raised my daughter, I do not want them to lie to me. The school does not even have CCTV because if they did, my daughter would not be dead," she noted.
Who was Kemunto according to her family?
The family remembered Kemunto as a jovial and hardworking girl with a dream of helping her family.

A kin noted Kemunto was a cool, calm and collected young lady and was a lady of few words who loved peace.
"The person who killed her was not a boyfriend. He was an enemy of this girl to terminate her life. Justice for Sylvia, justice for her mum," another added.
Kemunto was allegedly killed by a man reported to be her lover after she refused his advances several times.

Kemunto's mum files missing report at Lang'ata Police Station
Her heartbroken mother vividly and tearfully recounted learning of her daughter's death.
She had sent her some money for upkeep through a church elder's phone, but the Mass Communication and Computer Science student did not confirm receipt, which was unlike her.
Kemunto's mum tried to call her number but her daughter was not picking up, leaving the mother worried.
She went to the school, worrying for her daughter's safety, only to find out that she was missing.
She filed a missing person's report at Lang'ata Police Station after the school confirmed the student's disappearance, which was followed by a frantic search.
The body of the student was found in a water tank on Wednesday, April 2, in an incident that left many shattered.
